Subject: Listening to my soul
This is the concert played the day I was born, and listening to it is a very strange thing seeing as I hold The Grateful Dead closer to my soul than almost any other band out there.. Pretty good set, but I hate the horrible MIDI keyboards! Guess that was the 90's..

Subject: never will forget
These shows, aside for the lack of camping out and police everywhere, will be permanently embedded in my mind! I had tickets to both shows, but lost my wallet with Jerry's B-day show tix in it, not to mention my credit cards, ATM, cash,etc... Anyhoo, I called my Mom to wire me money and she did. We thought there was no chance of seeing this show since the number of people along the lot lane was FULL of people needing a ticket. Lo and behold the car next to us had 2 tix, face value, and we only had to open our car door before being approached. We also met our friends who we were looking for...seats next to ours. Great show!

Subject: Quality show all-around
The 5 stars is a relative rating based on the typical '94 show.

The Palace shows of '94 were just great, and this show's second set is wonderful from start to finish. This fantastic audience recording adds to some excellent versions of Stagger Lee, Music Never Stopped, Stella Blue, Satisfaction, Victim>Scarlet>Fire, Watchtower, and Liberty--listen to that crowd roar with joy during the Stagger Lee jam! Or during Jerry's mournful cries at the end of Stella Blue.......awesome stuff.

Well, Mr. Doug Nawrocki, wherever you are....I'm posting this in the hopes you also have a recording of the previous night, 7/31. It was my first show. I have a very high quality aud. tape that I bought from In Flight Sports in East Lansing (that I think you might've recorded.....?) but I'm itching to lose the hiss and have that show in digital form. If you do, and are willing to help a fella out, pretty-puh-leeze-with-Cherry-Garcia-on-top email me: bradhorn[atsign]ibiblio.org. Thanks much.

Hey Barn Dog!!
Thanks for the recording. I have not seen you since the big boss man in st. louis. I always loved your set up. This show is pretty good, as far as this summer went. The sound quality is there, after all look at the mics. After the heat out west, I couldn't wait to get back inside for an "air conditioned" show. The Palace was the only indoor venue that summer. Thanks again Barn Dog...

Jason

i was 16 yrs old when i went to this show... it was my very first show....though i had just started listening to the dead a few yrs prior to this, i still didn't fully understand? and when i first listen to this show ten yrs and many more shows,,,,, i was blown out of my seat .... the stella blues cries out with jerry's voice, through and through with a nice cut of saticefaction into what i personally think is the best liberty i have heard yet and may ever will... grate show.... grate memories..
